We welcome all apples. Any amount of any variety and there is no such thing as an ugly apple! We have collected as little as a carrier bag and as much as two tonnes. Picked 5 apples off a tree and picked an orchard. Please do get in touch if you have any apples.
Harvest season runs from Mid-August to late November. We concentrate on Edinburgh and the Lothians but will travel further by arrangement.
We love to collaborate with schools/scout groups/community orchards/farms etc. If you are planning something around harvest time, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Tree Picks
Our designated tree-picking days are on Tuesdays throughout the apple season. These are one-hour slots where we come and pick the apples directly from the tree.
We will always offer the tree owner whatever apples they may want first and emphasise that we only ask for surplus apples (those that you simply cannot manage to consume).
To arrange an apple picking session, please fill out the Apple Enquiries form below - these time slots fill up quickly!
Apple Collections
If you can pick the tree yourself, we have set Wednesdays as our designated apple collection days each season.
All you need to do is leave your picked apples on your doorstep/at the end of your drive (where you would normally leave your brown bin), drop us a message, and we will swing past to collect it. We then transfer any apples into our own containers for transport and leave your containers.

Drop Offs
With Pochle making a big move to our permanent home, Folly Spirit Labs, we will be taking drop-offs here now.
Time slots for dropping off apple donations follow the opening hours of Folly Spirit Labs, which can be found here, along with our address details. Saturdays from 12:00pm til 5:00pm holds as an extra drop-off slot.
Can’t make any of these times? We are also accepting drop-offs through our upstairs sister bar, The Penny Black, on Sundays, from 12:00pm til 5:00pm.
5% discount cards will be handed out to anyone who donates apples face-to-face or arranges a collection, which can be used in Folly Spirit Labs, the new home of Pochle - valid from 31/08/26 til 30/08/27.
Juice Your Own Days
In 2022, we ran “Juice Your Own Apples” days, where we invited people to bring in their own apples to be turned into juice. Following the success of these events, we are delighted to announce we will be doing this again this year, but now from our new home, Folly Spirit Labs.
To take part, all you need to do is book a slot on one of our designated days, and bring apples and containers for the apple juice - it’s that simple! To estimate how many containers you may need, 10kg of apples equates to around 5L of apple juice.
The set dates for this apple season are Sunday 20th September from 10:00 til 17:00, and Sunday 25th October from 10:00 til 17:00. Each booking of a time slot will give the time of one hour, to ensure your juice is ready - this means there are only 7 slots per day, so book in quickly!
Equipment Hire
We have a range of juicing equipment available, and we’re happy to offer equipment hire or lending to community orchards, schools and farms.
If you’re interested and would like more information on this, please fill out the Apple Enquiries form below.
