Pochle Geal 2023:
Notes: Green apple, Citrus, Spice
Sweet green apple comes to the fore on the nose followed by a background of orange marmalade and subtle hints of cardamon.
On the palate the spirit is light and nutty with a complex finishing mix of floral spiciness.
The spirit’s magnificent complexity has come from many things but predominantly the yeast used to make the cider and a lengthy fermentation. As a most welcome result, it marries remarkably well with tonic!
The Pochle & Tonic
P&T offering a path less travelled to those who enjoy the many wonders of a G&T!
Ingredients:
25ml x Pochle Geal
125ml x tonic water
Method:
Fill a highball glass with cubed ice and add the ingredients. Gently stir and then garnish with a wedge of orange (or pink grapefruit if you’re having it for breakfast!)
St Clouds
Ingredients:
50ml x Pochle Geal
25ml x fino sherry
12.5ml x lemon juice
7.5ml x linden honey
5ml x ginger wine
Method:
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and stir until the honey dissolves. Fill with cubed ice and shake for 8-12 seconds. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass, then garnish with lemon or orange twist.
